 DONATE

Dear Friend,

It’s been a long week since the Memorial Day Flood took lives and destroyed homes and possessions of many hundreds of Houstonians.

Since then Chabad branches in Houston have mobilized to respond to the needs of community members, non-stop.

  • Over 1,000 hours of Chabad volunteers selflessly cleaning, scrubbing, schlepping and organizing in over 50 homes and institutions, including UOS and Meyerland Minyan.
  • Over 250 home-cooked hot meals prepared and delivered to families in need.
  • Coordination of vetting and finding homes for rescue dogs impacted by flood
  • Providing immediate cleaning materials needed for cleanup effort.
  • Placing displaced families in temporary housing
  • Free trucking service for transferring furniture and possessions to temporary storage.
  • Collection and cataloging of Shaimos (Jewish religious articles for burial) and delivery to funeral homes.
  • Assessment and replacement of damaged religious articles, i.e. tzitzis, tefillin and mezuzos.
  • Crisis, counseling and medical intervention, including hospitalizations.
  • Activating the worldwide Chabad network for local homeowners on vacation or family members who need support out of town and overseas.

The needs are great and we are continuing to respond to the many calls we are receiving for help, but we can only do so with your help.

If you are able to volunteer your time for any of the above purposes please let us know.

Please donate so we can continue to effectively address the needs of families devastated by this historic storm.
